Research interest
The molecular biology of plant organelles (lupin, rapeseed, cauliflower, Arabidopsis). Analyses of the structure and expression of the chosen genes. Influence of thermal stress on the synthesis and accumulation of diferent mitochondrial proteins. Identification and characterization of proteins binding to the mitochondrial 5' and 3' transcript regions of nad6 and nad9 complex I subunits and ATP9 subunit of mitochondrial ATP synthase. Development of organellar molecular markers for the characterization of Andean lupin lines and cultivars. Developing of molecular markers for the selection of potato lines resistant for nematode invasion.

Current projects
1. 2003-2005 - cooperation with the Agricultural University of Wroclaw in the project grant of Polish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry: "Searching for molecular markers applied in selection of potatoes resistant for nematode Globodera rostochiensis";
2. 2003-2006 - cooperation with the Medical University of Wroclaw in the project no. 918 of the Department of Nephrology and Medical Transplantation: "Phenotypic differences in ADPKD patients and their correlation with the PKD1 gene mutations and the angiotensin reductase gene polymorphism".
